Spotting Scopes

A spotting scope earns its place on the firing point and in the high seat: far more magnification than a binocular, on a tripod, for calling shots at distance, reading mirage and identifying quarry before you commit. At Xtreme Tactical we stock spotting scopes dispatched tracked from the UK.

For handheld glassing and walking country a binocular is the better tool — see our binoculars range, or the full Leupold line-up. For the rifle itself, browse rifle scopes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a tripod?
Yes. Above about 12x, handheld shake makes the image unusable, and a spotting scope starts at far higher magnification than that. Budget for a tripod as part of the purchase.

What is a ranging reticle for?
It lets you measure a target of known size and work out its distance, and it gives you a reference for calling corrections to a shooter in mils or MOA rather than in guesses.
