An optics-ready slide is not cut for the RMR directly — it is cut for a plate, and the plate decides which optic you can fit. This kit supplies the correct RMR plate together with the screws and hex key, so the sight indexes properly on the slide and the recoil lugs bear where they should, rather than the mounting screws taking the load.
