The Holosun ARO EVO Red Dot Sight (ARO-EVO-RD2) is an enclosed-emitter rifle red dot sight with a single 2 MOA red dot reticle behind a 26 mm (1.02 in) window, weighing 4.33 oz (123 g) and supplied with both a 1.63 in (41 mm) lower-1/3 co-witness mount and a low mount.
The EVO is the larger, better-equipped ARO: a bigger window than the 22 mm ARO MRS, finer 0.5 MOA clicks, and Solar Failsafe added on top of Shake Awake. Red is the most widely used emitter colour and the most economical on battery. Auto-brightness sets the reticle to the ambient light, Lockout Mode stops the settings being knocked in a slip, and the side-loading tray means the battery changes without unmounting the sight. The 6061-T6 aluminium housing is IPX8 rated and tested to 1000G.
How It Compares
The same sight is offered as the ARO EVO green dot sight and the ARO EVO gold dot sight. For a ranging and BDC reticle in the identical housing, see the ARO EVO SPR red dot sight, and for the same optic with an integrated green and IR laser the ARO EVO Dual red dot sight. If you want a smaller and lighter sight, the ARO MRS red dot sight uses a 22 mm objective. Browse all enclosed red dot sights, offset red dot sights and straight-pull rifle optics, or read our guide to choosing an optic for an AR-pattern rifle.

Frequently Asked Questions
What reticle does the Holosun ARO EVO Red Dot Sight use?
The Holosun ARO EVO Red Dot Sight uses a single 2 MOA red dot. It is the plain-dot member of the ARO EVO range, so there is no circle and no reticle switching.
Will the Holosun ARO EVO co-witness with AR-pattern iron sights?
Yes. The Holosun ARO EVO is supplied with both a 1.63 in (41 mm) lower-1/3 co-witness mount and a low mount, so you can co-witness with standard AR-height irons or sit the sight low on a rail.
What battery does the Holosun ARO EVO take and how long does it last?
The Holosun ARO EVO runs on one CR2032 coin cell and is rated for up to 50,000 hours. Solar Failsafe supplements the cell in daylight, and the side-loading battery tray lets you change the cell without taking the sight off the rifle.
Is the Holosun ARO EVO an enclosed red dot sight?
Yes, the Holosun ARO EVO uses a fully enclosed 26 mm window and the 6061-T6 aluminium housing is rated IPX8 for water immersion and tested to 1000G, so mud, rain and debris cannot reach the emitter.
How does the ARO EVO differ from the ARO MRS?
The ARO EVO has a larger 26 mm window, adds Solar Failsafe and auto-brightness, and uses finer 0.5 MOA clicks. The ARO MRS uses a 22 mm objective with 1 MOA clicks and no solar panel, and is the smaller and lighter of the two.
Is the Holosun ARO EVO night-vision compatible?
Yes. The Holosun ARO EVO has 12 brightness settings, of which 8 are daylight settings and 4 are night-vision compatible, so the dot can be dimmed far enough to use behind a night vision device.
