The Primary Arms PLxC 1-8x24 FFP Rifle Scope in black (part number 610210, SKU PA-PLXC-1-8X24F-RDB-RAPTOR-5.56Y-G2) is a 1-8x magnification, 24 mm objective low-power variable optic on a 30 mm tube, with a first focal plane (FFP) ACSS Raptor 5.56/.308 Yard G2 reticle and Red Dot Bright illumination. It is 9.28 in (236 mm) long, weighs 16.95 oz (481 g), and adjusts in 0.1 MIL clicks with 100 MOA of windage and elevation travel.
First focal plane is the reason to buy this one. Because the reticle grows and shrinks with the image, the ACSS Raptor's bullet drop holdovers, ranging stadia and wind marks measure correctly at 3x, at 5x and at 8x, not only at one magnification. Red Dot Bright illumination then drives the centre chevron hard enough that at 1x it works like a red dot sight, which is the compromise most first-focal-plane LPVOs fail to solve.
How It Compares
This is the calibre-specific first-focal-plane option in black. The same optic is available in Flat Dark Earth with the ACSS Raptor 5.56/.308 Yard G2 reticle. For a milliradian grid rather than a calibre-specific reticle, the Japanese-made PLxC 1-8x24 FFP with the ACSS Griffin MIL G2 reticle adds ED glass and AutoLive. For a second-focal-plane alternative with a larger low-power reticle, see the PLxC 1-8x24 SFP with the ACSS Nova reticle. For more magnification in a first-focal-plane body, the PLxC 1.5-12x36 with the ACSS Raptor 5.56/.308 reticle reaches 12x. A 30 mm mount is required, such as the Primary Arms PLx 30 mm cantilever mount. Browse the Primary Arms LPVO range and read our guide to first and second focal plane scopes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which calibre is the ACSS Raptor 5.56/.308 Yard G2 reticle calibrated for?
The ACSS Raptor 5.56/.308 Yard G2 reticle is calibrated for both 5.56 and .308, and its ranging and holdover marks are laid out in yards.
What does the ACSS Raptor reticle actually do?
The ACSS Raptor combines bullet drop compensation so you hold over rather than dial for distance, ranging stadia that estimate the distance to a target of known size, moving-target leads, and wind holds either side of centre, all in one reticle.
What does first focal plane mean, and why does it matter here?
First focal plane means the reticle grows and shrinks with the image as magnification changes, so the ACSS Raptor's ranging and holdover marks measure correctly at every power rather than at one stated magnification only.
Is a first-focal-plane reticle usable at 1x?
Yes, on this scope. At 1x a first-focal-plane reticle is at its smallest, which is why Primary Arms fits Red Dot Bright illumination — the centre chevron is driven bright enough to be used like a red dot sight for close work.
What mount does the Primary Arms PLxC 1-8x24 FFP need?
The Primary Arms PLxC 1-8x24 FFP has a 30 mm tube, so it requires 30 mm rings or a 30 mm cantilever mount. No mount is included with the scope.
Should I choose the Raptor or the Griffin MIL G2 reticle?
Choose the ACSS Raptor 5.56/.308 Yard G2 if you shoot 5.56 or .308 and want ready-made holdovers in yards, and choose the ACSS Griffin MIL G2 if you prefer a full milliradian grid that suits any cartridge.
