Does it need batteries?
No — the reticle is lit by fibre optics in daylight and tritium in the dark. There is nothing to switch on and nothing to run flat.
What calibre is the reticle calibrated for?
7.62x39 with a 123gr bullet. On a 5.56 rifle the holds will not match.
Where do I aim with a horseshoe and dot?
The dot in the middle of the horseshoe is the aiming point. The horseshoe itself is there to catch the eye quickly at close range.
