Description

The Trijicon MRO SD Patrol Red Dot Sight No Mount (SKU MRO-C-2200353) is a 1x non-magnifying 25 mm tube red dot sight with a single 2.0 MOA red dot, adjustable LED brightness and a forged 7075-T6 aluminium housing, built around Trijicon's quick-release Q-LOC mounting system.

Patrol is the Q-LOC version of the MRO. Q-LOC is Trijicon's quick-release lever mount: it comes off the rail and goes back on without tools, and it is designed to return to the same point of impact, which is what you want on a rifle that gets stripped for transport, on a shotgun that swaps optics between disciplines, or on a spare rifle in a club rack.

Trijicon builds the MRO — Miniature Rifle Optic — to the same standard as its duty optics: a forged 7075-T6 aluminium housing, sub-flush adjusters that cannot be knocked off zero in a slip, and a waterproof body. That heritage is engineering, not marketing.

Mount Option: No Mount — the MRO SD Patrol is stocked in three configurations: MRO SD Patrol with no mount, MRO SD Patrol with full co-witness Q-LOC mount and MRO SD Patrol with lower 1/3 co-witness Q-LOC mount.

How It Compares

This one ships with no mount, for shooters who already own a Q-LOC or MRO-pattern mount. The other reticle in the Patrol line is the Trijicon MRO HD Patrol red dot sight, which adds the 68 MOA circle around the dot. If you do not need a quick-release mount, the Trijicon MRO SD red dot sight on fixed Picatinny mounts is the same optic family on fixed low, full co-witness and lower 1/3 co-witness mounts, usually for less money. To add reach behind the dot, the MRO SD Patrol and 3x magnifier combination (MRO-C-2200368) comes with a matched Trijicon 3x magnifier and a flip-to-side mount, or pick your own from the red dot sight magnifiers. Browse the Trijicon rifle red dot sights, the optics for straight-pull rifles and the shotgun red dot sights, or read our red dot mount height chart, guide to co-witness heights and Trijicon buyer's guide.

Ideal For

  • Practical and service rifle shooting on a straight-pull AR-pattern rifle, where the optic comes off for transport and has to return to zero
  • Practical shotgun and 3-Gun, moving one dot between guns between disciplines
  • Club and syndicate rifles shared between shooters, where the sight is removed and refitted often
  • Night fox and vermin control alongside a lamp, then straight back onto the daytime rifle

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Q-LOC mean on the Trijicon MRO Patrol?
Q-LOC is Trijicon's quick-release lever mounting system. It lets you take the optic off a Picatinny rail and refit it without tools, and it is designed to return to the same point of impact when it goes back on.

Will the Trijicon MRO SD Patrol fit a Picatinny rail?
This version is supplied without a mount. The full co-witness and lower 1/3 co-witness versions listed above each include a Trijicon quick-release Q-LOC mount, which clamps to a standard Picatinny rail.

What battery does the Trijicon MRO SD Patrol use?
The Trijicon MRO SD Patrol runs on a single CR2032 coin cell, which is supplied with the sight.

What is the difference between the MRO HD Patrol and the MRO SD Patrol?
The MRO HD Patrol has a switchable reticle, a 68 MOA segmented circle around a 2 MOA centre dot or the dot on its own, and an objective lens built to work behind a magnifier. The MRO SD Patrol has a single 2.0 MOA dot and nothing else in the window. This one is the SD version.

How big is a 2 MOA dot at 100 yards?
A 2.0 MOA dot covers about 2.1 in (53 mm) at 100 yards, so it is fine enough not to hide a target at distance while still being quick to pick up close in.

Is the Trijicon MRO SD Patrol waterproof?
Yes — the Trijicon MRO SD Patrol has a sealed, waterproof forged 7075-T6 aluminium housing, which is why it is specified for hard outdoor use in British weather.
