Description

The Primary Arms GLx 1X MicroPrism Scope with green illumination (part number 710072, SKU PA-GLX-1XMP-CYCLOPS-G) is a 1x unmagnified prism scope with a 20.5 mm window and a glass-etched ACSS Cyclops reticle illuminated in green. It is 2.6 in (66 mm) long, weighs 9.1 oz (258 g), adjusts in 1/2 MOA clicks with 50 MOA of windage and elevation travel, gives a 74.8 ft field of view at 100 yards (24.9 m at 100 m), and runs approximately 14,925 hours on a CR2032 cell at setting 5, with 13 brightness settings of which 3 are night-vision compatible. The housing is nitrogen-purged and sealed to IP67.

Two advantages stack up in this variant. The prism construction means the ACSS Cyclops reticle is etched into the glass rather than projected as an LED, so shooters with astigmatism see a clean horseshoe and chevron instead of the smeared comet a red dot gives them. And the green emitter plays to the eye's peak sensitivity, which shows against foliage, hedgerows and the flat overcast light that covers most of the British shooting year — often visible clearly at a lower setting, which saves battery too.

How It Compares

This is the premium 1x prism with green illumination. The same optic is offered with red ACSS Cyclops illumination. For a lower-cost 1x prism in green, the SLx 1X MicroPrism with green ACSS Cyclops Gen II illumination covers the same ground. For magnification, see the SLx 3X MicroPrism with green ACSS Raptor illumination or the SLx 5X MicroPrism with the ACSS Aurora MIL reticle. Browse the Primary Arms prism scope range and all prism scopes, and read our guides to how prism scopes work, astigmatism and red dot sights and green versus red illumination.

Ideal For

  • Shooters with astigmatism who see red dots as a smear, flare or double image
  • Deer stalking and woodland shooting, where a green reticle stands out against foliage
  • Practical shotgun and 3-Gun, where speed at 1x decides the stage
  • Night fox and vermin control at dusk, where a lower brightness setting suffices

Key Features

  • Magnification: 1x unmagnified, with a large 20.5 mm window
  • Reticle: ACSS Cyclops, etched into the glass, combining a fast horseshoe, a precise centre chevron and built-in ranging
  • Astigmatism: The etched reticle is resolved through the optic's own focusing system, so it stays sharp for eyes that see LED red dots as a smear
  • Illumination: Green, 13 settings of which 3 are night-vision compatible, with AutoLive motion sensing and push-button controls
  • Eye relief: Near-unlimited, so head position behind the optic is forgiving
  • Battery: CR2032, approximately 14,925 hours at setting 5
  • Field of view: 74.8 ft at 100 yards (24.9 m at 100 m)
  • Turrets: 1/2 MOA per click, 50 MOA of windage and elevation travel
  • Sealing: IP67 rated and nitrogen-purged against fogging
  • Mount: Modular mount with 8 height options, on the Trijicon Mini-ACOG and Primary Arms MicroPrism footprint

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a prism scope help with astigmatism?
Yes, for many shooters it does. A prism scope's reticle is etched into the glass and viewed through the optic's own focusing system, so it is resolved by the same corrected optical path as the target, whereas a red dot projects an LED that an astigmatic eye commonly sees as a smear, flare or double image.

Why choose green illumination over red?
The human eye is most sensitive to green light, so a green reticle is often easier to pick up against foliage and in poor light, and it can be seen clearly at a lower brightness setting, which saves battery.

What does the ACSS Cyclops reticle do?
The ACSS Cyclops combines a bold horseshoe that draws the eye to the centre quickly at close range with a precise centre chevron for accurate aiming and built-in ranging references for estimating distance to a target of known size.

Does the Primary Arms GLx 1X MicroPrism work if the battery dies?
Yes. The ACSS Cyclops reticle is etched into the glass rather than projected, so it remains fully visible and usable with the illumination switched off or the battery flat.

How is the GLx 1X MicroPrism different from the SLx version?
The GLx 1X MicroPrism has a larger 20.5 mm window, near-unlimited eye relief, improved daylight-bright illumination and IP67 nitrogen-purged sealing, sitting above the SLx prism line in specification.

Is the GLx 1X MicroPrism waterproof?
The Primary Arms GLx 1X MicroPrism is sealed to IP67 and nitrogen-purged, which protects it against dust ingress, temporary immersion in water and internal fogging.
