How It Compares
The green lamp is the point of difference here — most shooters find green the easier colour to pick up against woodland and foliage, where red can wash into the background. Everything else matches the rest of the 1-4x24 family. The same triangle post is built with an amber tip and a red tip. If you would rather have a conventional crosshair than a post, the 1-4x24 is also made with a standard duplex crosshair and a green dot and a German #4 crosshair with a green dot. Why choose green over amber or red?
Green tends to stand out best against woodland and foliage. Amber is the gentler of the three on the eye in flat light, red reads most clearly against snow and pale ground. The optics are otherwise identical.
How does a triangle post differ from a crosshair?
The illuminated tip of the triangle is the aiming point, and the post below it draws the eye up to that tip quickly. It is the fastest reticle in this family at 1x, but coarser than a crosshair for precise work.
