The SIG Sauer ZULU10 HDX 15x56 Binoculars in Flat Dark Earth, part number SOZ10004, are the long-range end of SIG's non-stabilised range and the largest binocular in it, combining 15x magnification with 56mm objectives through Abbe-Koenig roof prisms over a 4.5-degree field of view (approximately 79 m at 1,000 m). At 1,211 g (2.67 lbs) it is a tripod glass for open hill, forestry rides and long-range deer counts.

HDX™ GLASS is completed by LENSARMOR™, LENSHIELD™ and SPECTRACOAT™ — SpectraCoat anti-reflection coatings, LensArmor scratch-resistant outer surfaces and the LenShield hydrophobic layer. Twist-up eye cups give a generous 17.8mm of eye relief, with +/- 4 of dioptre adjustment and interpupillary distance from 56mm to 75mm. The rubber-armoured metal chassis is IPX-7 waterproof and fog-proof rated, measures approximately 220 x 66 x 156 mm (8.67 x 2.58 x 6.15 in) and focuses to 3 m; it is tripod mount capable, and an EVA moulded carrying case and neck strap are supplied.

What is an Abbe-Koenig prism and why does it matter?It is a straight-through roof prism design that, unlike the Schmidt-Pechan prisms used elsewhere in the SIG range, does not rely on a mirrored surface to fold the light path. SIG uses it only in the ZULU10, which is the reason these are longer in the body than the ZULU8.
