Description

The SIG Sauer ZULU6 HDX 10x30 Image Stabilised Binoculars in Flat Dark Earth, part number SOZ6WP10, are the compact end of SIG's stabilised range: 10x magnification on 30mm objectives, OIS™ Optical Image Stabilization and the widest field in the ZULU6 HDX line at 5.2 degrees (approximately 91 m at 1,000 m), all for 544 g (19.20 oz) — the one to carry when weight decides what comes on the hill.

Stabilisation runs in two user-selectable modes, Scan Mode for sweeping ground and Target Mode, which increases stability by up to 50% once you are on the beast, powered by a single CR2 cell for 20 hours. HDX™ GLASS is completed by LENSARMOR™, LENSHIELD™ and SPECTRACOAT™ coatings through Schmidt-Pechan roof prisms. Twist-up eye cups give 15mm of eye relief, close focus is 3.5 m (11.48 ft), and the Flat Dark Earth chassis is IPX-7 waterproof and fog-proof rated at approximately 150 x 50 x 120 mm (5.90 x 1.96 x 4.72 in); it is tripod mount capable, and a foam carrying case and neck strap are supplied.

How It Compares

The ZULU6 HDX 10x30 is the compact end of SIG SAUER's image-stabilised range and the one to carry when weight decides what comes on the hill. At 19.2 oz (approx. 544 g) it is the lightest ZULU6 HDX, and 10x with stabilisation switched on holds a picture most people cannot hold at 10x unaided. Its 5.2-degree field is the widest in the ZULU6 HDX line, which makes it the easiest of them to find a moving beast with. Step up to the 12x42 or 16x42 for more reach and larger objectives at last light, or the 20x42 when you are glassing static ground at long range. The ZULU6 HDX Marine 10x30 is the same optic in high-visibility orange with a floating neck strap. Against the non-stabilised ZULU8 HDX 10x42, the 10x30 trades objective size for a stabilised image and a smaller package.

Ideal For

  • Hill stalking where every gram is carried for hours before the binocular is used
  • Woodland and roe stalking, where 3.5 m close focus picks detail out of nearby cover
  • Night fox and vermin spotting from a static position, where a steady image beats a bigger one
  • Birding and general observation, where the 5.2-degree field is quick to pick up movement

  • Image Stabilisation: OIS™ Optical Image Stabilization with two user-selectable modes — Scan Mode for sweeping ground and Target Mode, which increases stability by up to 50%
  • Magnification: 10x with 30mm objectives — the lightest and widest-field configuration in the ZULU6 HDX line
  • Glass: HDX™ GLASS, LENSARMOR™, LENSHIELD™, SPECTRACOAT™ — SpectraCoat anti-reflection coatings, LensArmor scratch-resistant outer surfaces and the LenShield hydrophobic coating
  • Battery: Runs on a single CR2 cell for 20 hours
  • Housing: Flat Dark Earth armour over a compact chassis, IPX-7 waterproof and fog-proof rated
  • Eye Relief: 15mm with twist-up eye cups

Frequently Asked Questions

How much difference does the stabilisation actually make?It is the difference between a 10x image that shimmers with your pulse and one that sits still. Scan Mode steadies the picture while you sweep a hillside; Target Mode locks on harder and increases stability by up to 50% once you have found what you are looking at.

Is 30mm enough objective for last light? It is the smallest objective in the ZULU6 HDX line, so if you spend most of your time glassing in the last twenty minutes of legal light, the 12x42 or 16x42 gather more. The trade is weight — the 10x30 is around 70 g lighter than either.

What battery does it take and how long does it last?A single CR2 cell, good for 20 hours of runtime.

Will it survive British weather? It is IPX-7 waterproof and fog-proof rated, and the LensArmor and LenShield coatings are there specifically to shrug off rain, grit and fingerprints on the outer glass.

Can I put it on a tripod?Yes — it is tripod mount capable, though the ZULU6 HDX binocular adapter is sold separately.

Where can I see the rest of the range? The full SIG Sauer line-up sits in our binoculars collection.
